Studio FOW have a kickstarter currently blowing up about their upcoming game. Their new game is called Subverse and has raised over £1 million so far. It also has 8 days still to go, we could be seeing the total increasing even more than the 10 times that was wanted for the project.
The company originally wanted just £100,000 to make the game but as the kickstarter gained in popularity they kept adding more and more tiers to keep the ball rolling.
In their £1,000,000 post they state this:
We would like to thank all of our backers and loyal fans who have kelped us throughout this campaign, and our final stretch goal will help us bring you the best game possible by putting every last dollar pledged towards polishing it.
Think of it as an extra layer of wax on the car – more programmers, animators and one hell of a safety net to bring all of our depraved content to life in the highest possible quality
If that last sentence doesn’t set the tone of the game for you then allow me to explain what the game is exactly.
Subverse – a tactical RPG/SHMUP hybrid that takes place in a fully explorable galaxy where you get to be the Captain of your very own ship… which is crewed by the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Enter the Prodigium Galaxy – a place ruled by a by a bunch of puritanical, oppressive douchebags who pretty much hate anything sexy. Naturally, it’s up to you lead a covert revolution to overthrow these dickheads with your very own black ops squad of knockout waifus backed up by genetically engineered monsters and a top-secret stolen military fighter ship – all of which can be upgraded into an unstoppable force with loot and credits.
Assemble an elite team of deadly alien waifus that will fight for you.
The excessive use of the word ‘waifu’ also puts me a little on edge. Having said that it seems that they have found their niche well – if you think you fit into this and want to see more about the game then you can find their kickstarter here.
Their is also plenty of combat to keep you entertained between waifu wooing which will apparently last 20 hours.
