Another Classic Resident Evil Character Is Joining Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege is continuing its Resident Evil crossover by introducing another classic character to the game.

Rainbow Six Siege is no stranger to crossover events. While Fortnite remains the crowned champion of crossovers, Siege has seen its fair share of crossover appearances in recent months. Back in April, Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty appeared in Siege with two cosmetic item packs.

Around the same time, Siege also saw a Resident Evil crossover event. An elite operator skin for Zofia was released which dressed her up like Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 3. Now, Leon Kennedy is the latest Resi character to make an appearance in Siege. He’s set to be an Elite operator skin for Lion.

Fancy seeing these guys here!

The character skin was revealed in a short teaser alongside the new Crystal Guard season update. Leon Kennedy is the protagonist playable in Resident Evil 2 alongside co-star Claire Redfield. He later returned in Resident Evil 4 and the subsequent Resident Evil 2 remake. As a character from some of the best Resident Evil games, he’s most certainly a fan favourite.

The trailer shows off the skin in a dark graveyard, keeping with his spooky origins from Resident Evil. His clothing is recreated fairly accurately, with his iconic blue muscle fit tee and weapon holsters. If anything, he looks a little like Nathan Drake in this depiction. The skin won’t have any gameplay implications, but it’ll certainly be a head turner for fans of Capcom’s stellar horror series.

Notably, his face looks nothing like Leon Kennedy from the Resident Evil games. The face model still takes on the appearance of the Lion operator, which makes sense given the way the Siege’s cosmetic systems work. Speaking of which, the cosmetic system will also receive a huge overhaul in the coming months. Soon, players will be able to mix and match their operator cosmetic items at their own freedom.

The Leon Kennedy elite operator skin will be available to purchase from August 17th.
