ScreenRant spoke to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who confirmed that the re-release was happening, and so was more footage — including an actual post-credit scene

“Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie,” said Feige.

“If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”

Excitingly, some information on the added content has appeared on Reddit [via IGN].

According to the leak, the Avengers: Endgame Re-Release runtime will come in at 188 minutes, a whole seven minutes longer than the original release.

It’s also being reported that the movie will now feature a tribute to the man, the myth and the legend, Stan Lee himself.

Lee passed away in November 2018.

As for what the extra footage will entail, we’ve been thankfully left in the dark. No spoilers here!

Thankfully it’ll tide us over until the release of Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers game.

Due out next year, the game’s official description reads as follows: “Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source.

“The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix are excited to unveil Marvel’s Avengers, an epic action-adventure game that combines cinematic storytelling with single-player and co-operative gameplay.

“Developed by Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal, Nixxes Software, and Crystal Northwest, Marvel’s Avengers will release simultaneously for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X, Stadia, and PC on May 15, 2020.”
