Borderlands 3 Has Been Pretty Much Confirmed By Gearbox

Rumours of a third addition to the main Borderlands franchise have been circulating for a while now, but it’s now been all but confirmed by Gearbox.

The team behind Borderlands tweeted a very cryptic image that can only point to one thing, and really, why else would they tease us like this?!

Just in case it isn’t glaringly obvious, the tweet shows off a distinctly Borderlands-style road sign with the date “March 28,” the date that PAX East kicks off.

Adding fuel to the fire, the image also includes “Boston,” where PAX will be taking place, and “Exit 3,” potentially suggesting…y’know…Borderlands THREE.

Gearbox is set for a main stage appearance at PAX, with the description of the event stating: “This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more! We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!”

Let’s just hope that it’s not going to be a repeat of Blizzcon 2018, and we’re not about to get a Borderlands mobile game…

If we really are on the cusp of Borderlands 3 then it’s definitely going to make a lot of people very, very happy. The first Borderlands game was released ten years ago in 2009, with the sequel in 2012.

We’ve since had the pre-sequel, the VR game, The Handsome Collection and the Telltale Games’ Tales From The Borderlands, but do you know what we really want? BORDERLANDS 3!

At this point, if Gearbox announces anything other than Borderlands 3, there’s going to be a lot of p*ssed off gamers out there…
