Activision has announced its plan to introduce a new ranked mode to Call of Duty Warzone 2. Let’s look at what to expect for the new competitive mode.
Call of Duty is going from strength to strength in recent months. With a recent free multiplayer trial aimed at bringing new players in, now seems like the perfect time to introduce a new competitive mode. With this mode being requested a lot by the Call of Duty community, it is no surprise Activision has taken it on board.
Call of Duty Warzone 2 Ranked Mode
The ranked mode will be introduced at the same time Season 03 Reloaded is launched on May 10. It will see players being assigned Skill Ratings based on their in-game performances. Like most other competitive modes, these ratings will take into account eliminations, assists and overall positions on the leaderboard.
However, in order to make the matches balanced, each match will cost one Skill Rating entry fee. With a victory resulting in a boost to your SR and a defeat resulting in a negative, your overall SR will be reflected in the Skill Ratings rankings.
The Skill Ratings start from Bronze before levelling up through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson and Iridescent. If you are the best of the best, you can also enter the Top 250. Much like Overwatch, there will be a public leaderboard available to view in-game.
There will be rewards

As well as bragging rights, taking part in the Call of Duty Warzone 2 competitive mode will also reward you with prizes for progression. This includes stars which you earn as you play and boost you up the ranks.
Additionally, every five ranks you go through will reward you with prizes such as charms, emblems, gun screens and skins.
There will also be further rewards to earn at the end of every competitive season. It is also worth noting that with the start of a new season, your rank will be dropped to a lower SR rating. You can find out more about the ranked mode here.
