Call Of Duty: Warzone Is Already Breaking Records

Call of Duty: Warzone is only hours old but it’s already smashing records with some eye-wateringly massive player numbers. The Battle Royale mode for Modern Warfare (which is available for all, and not just those who own MW) finally dropped on March 10, and it’s smashed expectations.

According to the official Call of Duty social media channels, “over 6 million” players dropped into Warzone in its first 24 hours.

To put that into perspective, the launch of 2019’s Battle Royale phenomenon Apex Legends saw 2.5 million players in its first 24 hours. The BR game which arguably kick-started the genre, Fortnite, saw over 1 million in the same time period.

Call of Duty: Warzone is the latest addition to the CoD line-up and the first Battle Royale we’ve seen from the team since Blackout (barring CoD Mobile), so naturally, it’s the current go-to game for top streamers.

So far, players are absolutely loving the new mode and everything it has to offer. The game supports a whopping 150 players per match, which is causing the best kind of chaos for CoD players.
