The free-to-play Battle Royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone, is one of the best games you can play right now, and it’s become a firm favourite title for millions of players across the world. Just one of the game’s many fans is 55-year-old grandma, Michelle Statham, better known by her online persona, TacticalGramma.
TacticalGramma is spending six hours a day streaming Warzone for her thousands of viewers on Facebook, and she’s having an absolute blast doing it, crushing the stereotypes of what a streamer “should” or “shouldn’t be.”
With over six thousand subscribers already, TacticalGramma is definitely doing something right!
Gramma isn’t just streaming shooter games like Call of Duty though – she’s also actively helping her growing community with advice, help and support.
In an interview with Good News Network, her husband Shawn said the following: “She has been helping so many people, from young single moms to college students to inner city youth,
“She listens and cares for each of these people—all while playing video games.”
This isn’t Gramma’s first game either. She devoted time in the 1970s to games like Pong and platforms like Atari, and has now transferred her skills to the likes of Call of Duty, Apex Legends and Fortnite.
She recently told a patron: “I’m definitely not the best at gaming or anything, but I love chatting with the community, and I love to play.”
More and more people are turning to online communities during these times of isolation and lockdown, and TacticalGramma’s growing community sounds like a great place to be if you’re a fan of shooters!
Check out TacticalGramma on Facebook where she streams Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. PST, or give the video below a watch to see her in action!
