Capcom has confirmed plans to release “multiple” big games before the end of March 2021. The news comes via Gematsu, where Capcom’s 2019 fiscal year financial update has been shared.
Mentioned in both the “Growth Strategies” and the “Strategic Objectives and Plan” parts of the report, Capcom writes: “Expand pipeline with multiple major new releases.” This is confirmed to be in place for the fiscal year, which will end on March 31st, 2021.

What we might be getting isn’t all too clear at this point, but it’s believed that both a Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil 8 are currently in development.
Although RE 8 has yet to be official announced, a number of leaks have suggested it’s in the works, making it likely to be one of the titles we can expect to see in the coming months.
According to new rumours [via BloodyDisgusting], the next addition to the RE franchise will be the darkest yet.

The unconfirmed news comes from known RE leaker, @AestheticGamer on Twitter. Otherwise known as Dusk Golem, the leaker has a pretty good track record with leaks, but as always, take the rumours with a pinch of salt for now.
According to the leaker, RE 8’s official reveal is worth getting excited about, as the game will be “by far the darkest & most gruesome RE yet.”
That’s great news for horror fans, as Resident Evil 7 really pushed the boundaries with its first-person take on the genre. The game is arguably the darkest in the series, choosing to go for a more claustrophobic and personal brand of horror than the usual shoot-’em-up zombie takes the series is traditionally known for. If RE 8 is going to get even darker then count me in!
As for a Resident Evil 4 Remake, I’m firmly in the camp of “please, no.” However, I’m willing to see what the Capcom geniuses can cook up.
