E3 2019 is nearly here and one of the biggest names and games of the show is going to be, of course, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
The whole world has been waiting for another glimpse at the dystopian RPG, which is coming from the makers of The Witcher 3.
We’ve known for a while now that the game will be there at E3, and we’ve been promised it’s going to be CD Projekt Red’s “most important-ever E3.”
That comment, which came from CD Projekt President Adam KiciĆsk, led fans to believe that we’re likely to be getting a release date for the game (finally!) and it might even be playable for those attending E3 this year.
However, the latter of those dreams has just been dashed by the company’s Global Lead, Marcin Momot.
On Twitter [via PCGamer], Momot said: “To answer many questions about the demo and whether or not @CyberpunkGame will be playable at E3 — we are going to be hosting gameplay presentations (game played by us) in that cinema.”
Unfortunately, that means it’s not going to be playable by the public. *SOB*
However, the gameplay presentations have been confirmed to be both “behind closed doors” and public.
At last year’s E3, Cyberpunk 2077 was showcased to press, but wasn’t unveiled to the world until Gamescom in August.
Whether or not we’ll be getting a release date for the game remains to be seen, but an industry insider has said it’s happening.
The supposed news comes from a NeoGAF user by the name of Braldryr [via SpielTimes] who spilled a lot of beans in a huge Microsoft infodump.
Braldryr separated the gossip into six categories: What is Going to Happen, What Has a High Chance of Happening, What Has a Small Possibility of Happening, Approached/Being Purchased, Not Happening and Rumoured.
A release date for Cyberpunk 2077 to be announced at E3 2019 was in the âWhat is Going to Happenâ category.
As a means of âprovingâ their place in the gaming world, Braldryr then offered up a series of images which showed a huge array of business cards apparently given to them by the likes of CD Projekt Red to Rare to Naughty Dog to Epic Games.
Fingers crossed this is a legit leak – I can’t wait any longer for a release date for Cyberpunk 2077!
