CD Projekt Red has been pretty coy about whether or not its upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, is going to have a multiplayer mode or not.
Multiplayer is a huge part of games of late, and if you don’t have multiplayer in your game then you could really limit the amount of time players might stick with it. However, single player campaigns have worked out amazingly well for the likes of Sony and Rockstar Games.

So, will Cyberpunk 2077 have a multiplayer mode alongside its main story? Well…we don’t know.
Sticking with the neither-here-nor-there approach, Cyberpunk 2077’s Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko told Eurogamer, that the game is a single player experience first and foremost.
“We’re not really working on multiplayer, our sole focus is single-player,” said Sasko. “We’ll do that, then we’ll see. We’re not saying no but we’re not saying yes.

“If something does happen it will definitely be post-launch and that’s as much as I can say right now.
“I mean we’re known for good stories, amazing characters, choices and consequences. So this is something for sure we’d be going with, if anything happened regarding that. We’d avoid anything that’s not that. If we do it, it’ll be our style.”

CD Projekt Red describes the game as follows: “An open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.
“You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”
