Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 rumour points to dual-wielding pistols, new quests and console FOV

Cyberpunk 2077 could be about to get one of its biggest free updates yet, if a new rumour is right.

The details come from YouTuber Wes Nemo, who claims to know what’s coming in Update 2.5. If he’s right, Night City is in line for new weapons, quests, cosmetics and some long-requested console features. CD Projekt Red hasn’t shared full patch notes yet, so treat all of this with a healthy dose of scepticism.

Two guns are better than one

The standout claim is dual-wielding. According to the leak, a new perk called Double Trouble will be added to the Cool skill tree, letting V carry a pistol in each hand. Fans have wanted the feature for years, and it would suit the game’s over-the-top gunfights.

New quests and an Edgerunners 2 tie-in

The rumour also suggests the update will lean on the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2. Wes Nemo claims there will be a new gig called Clampdown tied to the anime, plus a radio station playing music from the series.

He also points to a mystery side quest built around a tour of Night City, which could give returning players a fresh reason to explore.

Console players could get FOV and mods

Arguably the biggest news for console players is a reported field of view setting, which has long been a PC-only option. The leak also claims Update 2.5 will bring built-in mod support through mod.io on major platforms, though apparently not on Nintendo Switch 2.

Plenty of cosmetics too

The rumoured feature list goes on. It reportedly includes five new clothing sets, Glamdocs for customising arm cyberware, new hairstyles for both male and female V, and Quadra vehicle skins handed out through Twitch Drops.

When could it arrive?

The leak lines up with an Update 2.5 release on October 22, so we may not be waiting long to find out how accurate it is. Until CD Projekt Red confirms the details, though, it’s all still a rumour.
