The Summer Games Fest 2021 Kickoff Live event has given us a brand new trailer for FromSoftware’s and writer George R.R. Martin’s upcoming RPG Elden Ring. Better yet, we finally got a release date!
In this trailer, we saw a first look at gameplay and some cinematic shots of the environments. If you’re a fan of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, you can’t afford to miss Elden Ring. The trailer showed off plenty of PvE magic and swordplay, as well as incredible fantasy backgrounds, traversed on horseback.

Fans of Elden Ring have been waiting for any information on this highly-anticipated RPG, especially since the last trailer we got for it was in 2019. The game’s development was apparently disrupted by the ongoing pandemic.
What is Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a brand new game from the creator of Dark Souls, Hidetaka Miyazaka, and Mr Game of Thrones himself, George R. R. Martin.
A press release sent to us gives us a bit more of an insight on what to expect.
Players will embark on a journey across a meticulously handcrafted world dripping in blood and deception brought upon by a variety of characters with their own unique motivations for helping or hindering the player’s progress, adversaries with profound backgrounds, and fearsome creatures. Throughout their adventures, players will choose the fate of this cursed land by unravelling its secrets and myths.
Featuring a vast and seamless landscape with natural weather and time-of-day progression, players will become fully immersed in the world of Elden Ring as they begin their journey and choose on their own path. Traverse on foot or horseback, alone or online with friends across grassy plains, suffocating swamps and lush forests. Ascend spiraling mountains, enter breathtaking castles, and witness other sites of grandeur on a scale never seen before in a FromSoftware title. Elden Ring’s role-playing and customization options allow players to define their own unique playstyle. Experimentation is encouraged with a wide variety of weapons, magical abilities and skills found throughout the world; enticing players to follow previously unexplored progression paths.
