Dataminers have discovered that FromSoftware cut a dream collecting quest from the final version of Elden Ring.
Elden Ring FAQ: Every Guide You’ll Need
If you’re familiar with Lance McDonald, then you would know that he has a knack for uncovering hidden and cut content in FromSoftware titles. The latest is a dream collecting quest and NPC that has been cut in the release final version of the game.
In the video uploaded to McDonald’s channel, an NPC named Monk Jiko was discovered. This NPC had recorded dialogue and a full quest that would see you gather dreams from sleeping animals within the Lands Between.
The dreams gathered were called Dream Mists and once the quest was activated, Monk Jiko would provide the player with the St. Trina’s Crystal Bell. Once the player had acquired enough Dream Mist, they would return to Monk Jiko to be rewarded with the Dreambrew.
We could learn what NPCs were dreaming
After the Dreambrew had been acquired, players would then be able to make various NPCs fall asleep. Furthermore, if the NPCs were asleep, players would be able to learn what they were dreaming. However, in the video, it is also implied that a certain dream could provide a hint at one of the endings of Elden Ring.
When visiting the Church of Elleh, after drinking the Dreambrew, while the merchant is sleeping, a message reads: “by a nightmare of his eyes being burned by the Frenzied Flame.” Without giving much away, the Frenzied Flame is associated with the “bad” ending of Elden Ring.
