Everything You Missed at E3 2021 | The ULTIMATE Guide

SUNDAY JUNE 13TH – 8:15PM – SQUARE ENIX

For fans of JRPGs and Marvel, there’s really no other place to be other than Square Enix’s E3 presentation. Let’s take a look at all the goodies we saw on Sunday.

STRANGER OF PARADISE: FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN

Considered ‘the meme’ of E3 2021, this fun little game raised a few eyebrows at Square Enix’s E3 2021 show. If you’ve seen the word ‘CHAOS’ floating around the internet, well, this is where it’s from.

Stranger of Paradise is a Final Fantasy Souls-like spin-off, based on the first game. It’s coming in 2022, but no further details were given.

MARVELS’ GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

The E3 2021 World Premiere trailer kicked off the show and proceeded to take up most of it with a gameplay deep dive. This Cosmic Marvel inspired game has all the quirky dialogue you might expect from the series, as well as most of your favourite characters. It looks like you’ll only be able to play as Star Lord, which is fine by us! It will be released on October 26th 2021.

MARVEL’S AVENGERS BLACK PANTHER: WAR FOR WAKANDA EXPANSION

Will this free addition to Marvel’s Avengers be enough to get you to pick the game back up? There’s no release date yet, but we did get another look at the environments and characters.

BABYLON’S FALL

We finally got a gameplay trailer, after waiting since 2018! The developers confirmed that the game is a live-service title coming to PS4, PS5, and Steam, but gave no indication of a release date. One day…

FINAL FANTASY ORIGINALS REMASTER

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a game with a striking pixel art style. To hear that the first six final Fantasy games are getting a ‘pixel remaster’ was great news for fans of the series. Whilst there wasn’t a release date, we know that the games are coming to Steam and mobile.

LIFE IS STRANGE: TRUE COLORS

A small but successful moment of the presentation was a first look at the gameplay of the fifth Life is Strange game – True Colours. It’s coming out on September 10th 2021 and all pre-orders will include the Life is Strange Remastered Collection. This collection includes all 5 episodes of the first game with updated visuals, as well as the prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm, again with updated visuals. The Remastered Collection comes out on September 30.

LEGEND OF MANA REMASTER

For many long-term Sony fans and collectors alike, Legend of Mana is considered something of an oddity. It had distinct gameplay from the rest of the series, giving players the ability to shape the world’s structure through the Land Make system. It was a controversial move – critics weren’t impressed, but the game had high sales. For the 30th anniversary of the Seiken Densetsu series, Legend of Mana is coming to PS4, Switch and Steam on June 24th 2021.

WAR OF THE VISIONS AND FINAL FANTASY COLLAB

One for mobile gaming fans – giants War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy are teaming up! They’ll be collaborating from June 16th 2021 to July 13th 2021.

NIER MOBILE

The Nier mobile game ‘Nier Reincarnation’ is finally coming to the West, but there’s no sight of a release date. Silver lining though – pre-registers are open now.

HITMAN SNIPER: THE SHADOWS

Another big one for mobile gamers and, I suppose, those in need of another Hitman fix. We got another look at Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, a mobile game that appears to be a direct sequel to Hitman 3.
