Fatal Frame/Project Zero Returning Later This Year

It has been announced at Nintendo Direct that Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is returning this year for PC and consoles.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water (as it’s known in the United States) originally released for the Nintendo Wii U back in September 2014. However now, it’s going multiformat.

It’s fair to say that this wasn’t the scariest entry in this spooky horror series, though it did make clever use of the Wii U tablet being used as the in-game camera to combat the ghosts.

What is Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water?

If you’re unfamiliar with the Project Zero/Fatal Frame franchise, this supernatural horror is combat-free. Instead, you combat spooky ghosts by using the Camera Obscura. It sounds like a strange concept, but trust me it works (mostly).

The story of Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water takes place in the fictional creepy Hikami Mountain which is said to be “a place infamous for suicides and spiritual happenings connected with local bodies of water.

While this might not be my favourite game in the Project Zero series, I’m certainly willing to give it when it re-releases later this year.
