First Look At Robert Pattinson’s Batman Has Thrilled Arkham Knight Fans

The first look at Robert Pattinson as Batman has been teased after director Matt Reeves shared a short video online. For fans of the Batman Arkham games, it seems to be great news, as Pattinson’s suit seems to look a LOT like the ones shown in WB’s Batman: Arkham Knight.

Over on Twitter, one user said: “I’m really digging how Pattison’s Batman looks so far. The armour chest piece looks like the Arkham Knight version but with some symbolism about guns/killing.”

Another called it a “hybrid between Batman Arkham Knight and Batman Noel.”

The Lighthouse star’s new Batsuit features a leather cowl alongside an armoured mid-section, with detailing on the bat logo that looks to be made from guns.

Fans believe that Batman’s new logo is literally built from the gun used to murder his parents – and that is hard as hell. Do not mess with a man who re-appropriates firearms like this.

Others have praised the music in the new snippet, and hope to see a similarly noir-ish vibe to the film like the music that features in the trailer.

This hope may not be too unrealistic, as director Reeves has previously said he wants Pattinsons’ Batman to focus on the detective side of the character.

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale,” Reeves told the Hollywood Reporter.

He expanded on how the film would differ from previous Batman outings:

“It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.”

Certainly fits with the look and feel we’ve gotten from this mini-tease! We can’t wait for a full trailer for the film.

The Batman releases 25th June 2021.
