The first official look at the upcoming Halo TV series has been revealed in a series of new set images. The snaps give a promising glimmer of hope that the series might at least be faithful to the video game franchise.
Images from the set were shared via the official Halo Waypoint blog by the show’s executive producer Kiki Wolfkill.
We got to see images of what looks to be an ammo crate which reads “UNSC Military Cartridges” and the BR55 Battle Rifle, an iconic weapon in the Halo series.
We also saw what looks to be the arm of a Sangheili a.k.a an Elite, and an image of actress Jen Taylor who will be reprising her role as the voice of Cortana.
In the Halo Waypoint blog post, Kiki Wolfkill jokes: “Oh, and this time I got to pack Jen Taylor in my luggage to bring her Cortana magic to the show!“
In a post that celebrated everything Halo for 2020 on the blog, Wolfkill wrote: “We were able to go back to Budapest a few months ago and resume production on the Halo television series!
“While we were able to cover a lot of ground during the pandemic ‘hiatus’, the thing we couldn’t do while working from home was to actually shoot. So with a rigorous COVID protocol in place and our fingers crossed, we picked up where we left off in March and were able to get some amazing footage in the can.”
Like most things in the world right now the production of the Halo TV series was halted by COVID-19, but Wolfkill promised that further updates will be provided in 2021.
“So much to share in 2021 but in the meantime, stay safe, Spartans and enjoy this tiny sneak peek!” teased Wolfkill.
The Halo TV series which is still currently played to release in 2021 stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, the aforementioned Jen Taylor as Cortana, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsy, Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes and Charlie Murphy as Makee.
