Fortnite has had many LTM’s or limited time modes and that is exactly what they are ‘limited time’. So when players heard that Playground was going to be a place where you can wander round the map and make whatever you like then they were all very excited.
The Game mode was taken down a few times as devs spotted a few problems with the game mode. This also frustrated players who didn’t get a chance to play around on the open map with no enemies on it.
Now it is here and looks like it will stay up until the end of its run. The game mode will close on the 12th July and fans are already asking for it to be permanent.
However do not despair as Epic Games has said that Playground will return as a creative mode in the future. There is no fixed time for when this will return but Epic Games have announced some updates to the game mode.
“The Playground LTM represents our first step into what a full creative mode looks like in Fortnite,”
Epic has said that the next version of the game mode will let players pick through options within the mode itself. In addition these will also be options that you can choose from:
- 1v1s and 2v2s
- Aim assist for controllers
- Editing other player’s structures
- Traps affecting teammates/enemies correctly
- Highlighting teammates on the map
- Damaging enemies with your pickaxe
Some other changes we would like to see include materials being always full so you don’t have to destroy the environment to build the structures that you want to.
Epic games are even listening to your feedback so if you want to have you say make sure you do in the Thread they made on Reddit:
We’ve heard your first round of feedback for the Playground LTM and are working towards adding functionality to the next version. https://t.co/gxRe7pKP2C
