Ghost Of Tsushima File Size Is ‘Half’ That Of The Last Of Us Part 2

The PlayStation 4 is set to go out with a bang with two of the final Sony PS4 exclusive games dropping in the coming weeks. The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima are set to be the swan songs of the beloved console, but there’s a dramatic difference in the download size of the titles.

It was recently revealed that Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 would be around 100 GB in size, which sparked a debate on the size of current-gen games. For reference, 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 comes close to the 100 GB mark, but is an open-world game with online options. The Last of Us Part 2 has neither of these features.

It was pretty tough for people to decide on whether 100 GB for a single-play, narrative-driven game was a big download or an average one, and now it looks like we have a better comparison in Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost, which is already being applauded for its stunning graphics and riveting gameplay, will reportedly clock in at 50 GB minimum, putting it at around half the size of TLOU Part 2.

What exactly makes the size difference so dramatic remains to be seen, but it’s definitely a notable size difference for two single player games releasing at pretty much the same time, on the same console. Of course, the Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch games have both been built in different engines, but still, it’s a comparison I’m keen to explore.

Thankfully we won’t have too long to wait before we can deep-dive into the technical differences between the two games. Ghost of Tsushima releases on July 17, and The Last of Us Part 2 releases on June 19.
