Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has officially been revealed to the world. The trailer for the 2020 addition to the lucrative franchise has wowed gamers across the globe, but not everyone is pleased. There have been a few people who are concerned about the number of games that already explore Norse and Scandinavian mythology. One of the biggest titles being compared to Valhalla is, of course, 2018’s PlayStation exclusive, God of War.
The director of God of War, Cory Barlog, has now responded to concerns over the games’ potential similarities. Barlog shared an article from GameSpot in which the Valhalla developers say they’re not worried about any such thing.
Barlog commented: “No one should be worried. The myths have been around a long time and will persevere through the ages providing countless creatives a deep well to pull from – provided they are willing to sacrifice an eye for the knowledge.
“VERY excited to play AC:Valhalla when it comes out.”
Really, would you expect anything less from Good Guy Cory?!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla got its first trailer yesterday (April 30), and it’s already looking like the AC game of our dreams. Set in the Viking era, the game will feature everything from beard customisation to blood-filled battles, and really, I can’t wait.
Valhalla will focus on building your viking settlement, and will be set across Scandinavia, Norway and Britain. Gear is customisable, as is your beard and your tattoos, which is very cool! Your companion friend will be a raven, and yes, you’ll be able to play as either a male or female hero.
In case you missed it, check out the trailer below!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be releasing sometime in “Holiday 2020.” It will be available on Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
