Rockstar Games has finally unveiled the Grand Theft Auto Online casino of our dreams in its latest update, but not everyone in the world is impressed.
The newly-opened Diamond Casino & Resort has brought a whole butt-load of fresh gameplay to the table, adding everything from blackjack to penthouses, but not every player is able to enjoy the new goods.

Users on the GTA5subreddit have complained of being unable to purchase gambling chips for use in the casino [via GameRant], leaving them unable to make the most of the new content.
Unfortunately, it seems that players’ access is determined by the gambling laws of their location, in a move that’s supposedly down to Rockstar’s compliance with online gambling laws in various countries.

The news comes after one user was greeted with an error message after trying to buy the virtual gambling chips. After they contacted customer support, they were apparently told that the block was in place due to the region they lived in.
Reddit sleuths have started to compile a list of countries and regions in which purchasing chips is disallowed. With more than 50 locations on the list, including Poland, Cyprus, Iceland and China, players are pretty sad about the news.

Strangely, there have been reports of players unable to make the chip purchases despite living in countries where online gambling and in-game loot boxes are legal. These include the likes of Portugal and Argentine.
Rockstar Games has yet to comment on the scenario, leaving players keen to enjoy the casino via a VPN.
On the official website for the update, Rockstar writes of the new casino: “Here, your dreams are reality, and your reality is a dream. Here, every whim can be satisfied, every fantasy fulfilled – no impulse control, no windows, no clocks, and no clearly labelled exits. Welcome to the Diamond standard.”
Gambling additions include horse racing, slot machines, the lucky wheel, poker, roulette, and blackjack.
