Death Stranding will release exclusively on PlayStation 4, November 8 2019.

The game is up for preorder through the PlayStation Store right now, with lots of exclusive preorder bonuses available.

Sharing the date and gameplay reveal over on PlayStation’s official Twitch account, it seems all that black goo and the happy thumbs-up baby are making a little more sense…sort of.

Plot details leaked by Sony yesterday (Tuesday) read as follows: “Experience a journey like nothing before it, from legendary game creator Hideo Kojima. Take control of working man Sam Bridges, as he braves a deadly and mysterious world where death’s tide lurks everywhere.

“Featuring an all-star cast, including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Lindsay Wagner, Léa Seydoux and Guillermo del Toro, Death Stranding is a unique and unforgettable game.”

The debut game from Kojima Productions marks the first time Kojima has had full reign over a project, and it’s going to be a fun ride trying to figure out what the visionary genius has in store for us.
