Thanks to a PC mod, you can now play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in local split-screen co-op.
Ever since I jumped into this series with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion I’ve often wondered what this series would be like playing co-op with a friend.
Sure I know that we can play The Elder Scrolls Online with other players, but it’s not quite the same.
With mods becoming even more creative with the likes of Skyrim, and the fact that Bethesda actively supports them, I had hopes that this feature would one day arrive in Skyrim. Thankfully that day has now come.
Granted as far as I’m aware this mod isn’t supported directly by Bethesda at the time of writing but it’s still fantastic that this mod finally exists.
Unfortunately the mod is only available for the PC version of Skyrim Special Edition and is not available for console but I’m sure this news will please many fans.
The mod in question is the Nucleus co-op mod and it will allow one player to control the main character and the second player will take control of an in-game companion.
According to information provided by PCGamesN, not only will you need a copy of Skyrim Special Edition but you’ll also need Skyrim Together through the Harbor launcher.
You’ll also need the latest version of Nucleus. If this mod is of interest to you, be sure to consult the FAQ first.
It’s worth keeping in mind that this is a very new mod, so you’re likely to encounter a number of bugs and glitches. Though I suppose this is Skyrim after all, so you should be used to that by now!
