Joe Rogan has enraged the internet with his latest comments on the topic of video games. Speaking on his incredibly popular podcast, Rogan stated that gaming is a “waste of time” for “most people.”
He said: “Video games a real problem. You know why? Because they’re f**king fun. You do them, and they’re real exciting, but you don’t get anywhere […] You [could be] doing something exciting and fun, or you could just be playing f**king video games. Three years later you could just be that same kid, playing video games, waiting for the next whatever the f**k game is… You’re gonna waste your time.”
Naturally, the internet has had a lot to say on the topic, with people weighing in on the star’s controversial comments.
A number of streamers have jumped into the conversation on social media, responding to a DEXERTO clip of Rogan’s thoughts.
“‘Books are such a waste of time. You can read books for 3 years and then what, after reading them?'” tweeted Twitch partner, Mxiety, sarcastically. “‘You think you’re going to France, Moscow or another planet but you really get nowhere.'”
Another user added: “Just like playing sports is a waste of time, watching movies/tv shows is a waste of time, hanging out with friends is a waste of time, reading is a waste of time, listening/learning how to play music is a waste of time. All these things can be considered a waste of time…”

I think the main problem here is the notion that a fun activity needs to produce money to be worth your time. What if it makes you happy? What if you bond with your friends & get stress relief through video games?

The comments have also sparked debates around video game addiction, with some people siding with Rogan’s opinion.
