A port of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle was announced at last night’s State of Play.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is a reworked port of the anime fighting game, coming to PC and consoles. Originally released for the PS3, All Star Battle was a 3D fighting game based on the popular manga, with over 40 characters.
Now, this new port of the game has over 50 characters. It’s overhauled the “battle system with adjustments to the fighting tempo and the addition of hit stops and jump dashes,” according to its official site.
Not only that, the game has brand new voice work from the anime voice actors. When the game came out, the anime versions of parts four to six of the manga had not been adapted. So this will be the first time fans will get to hear the anime voice actors in the game.
According to a press release, All Star Battle R also features a new ‘Support Attack’ tag-team battle system. Details are slim on what this system actually is. It sounds like it could be similar to something like Dragon Ball Fighterz where you make a team of fighters.
“What sets apart JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R from other fighting games is Araki’s signature art style where fan favorite characters, story, and setting converge in outrageously fun and fast-paced battles,” said Associate Brand Manager at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Ryan Wagner.
No release date has been confirmed yet, but it is expected to release sometime this autumn.
