YouTuber Keemstar is now the proud owner of PewDiePie’s Red Diamond Play Button thanks to a strange turn of events which saw the drama channel nab a piece of YT history. In a recent episode of Keem’s Drama Alert show, the star revealed that he managed to pick up Pewds’ Play Button after garbagemen came across it and sold it online.
In the video, which you can watch below, Keem explains that following Pewd’s home being robbed, the Swedish gamer decided to throw out a lot of his material goods. This just so happened to include his Red Diamond Play Button, which was gifted to him by YouTube when his channel hit 100 million subscribers.
Keem said: “PewDiePie got robbed a couple of months ago or whatever, and after that he got rid of a lot of materialistic things in his home. He just threw them away. And some of those were like Play Buttons and like some of his awards from YouTube. He literally just gave them away, and garbage people found them and put them up on eBay.
“JackSucksAtLife ended up getting the box that his 100 million Diamond Play Button came in. It didn’t have the award in it, but he still has the box and it’s crazy. A lot of PDP’s awards are like floating around the internet, people are reselling them and everything else. And I was lucky enough to get my hands on the PDP play button, the 10 million sub Play button.”
Keem went on to say that if PewDiePie wants the award back, he’ll happily hand it over to its rightful owner, though he did express a desire to display it in a museum of YouTuber artefacts.
He also warned viewers that he spent a lot of money on the Button, before admitting it’s being stored in a safety deposit box at his bank.
“Any moment you want this back, it’s yours,” he said in an open call out to PewDiePie.
It’s a weird story for sure, but I can’t imagine PewDiePie will be hankering for his Button back.
