While heading home after a night out, a man found a lost copy of Nintendogs, which he made his mission to rescue.
We’ve all been there: you’ve had a lovely evening with your friends, you’re on your train ride home, and suddenly, you find a lost copy of Nintendogs. It’s happened to all of us right? Alright, maybe not. But it did happen to TikToker bennypvideo, or Ben, who experienced exactly that on a night out recently.
In the video posted to Ben’s TikTok, he shows us how he found an old copy of Nintendogs just sitting underneath a seat on the train. It definitely looks a bit rough round the edges. But because no dog gets left behind, Ben decided to take the cartridge home. And in a followup video, he found that it might not be as easy as booting up his old DS.
Did it work?
Unfortunately, when Ben tried to play the copy of Nintendogs to see what awaited him, his DS told him that no card was inserted. He compared it to a company of New Super Mario Bros. And it was even clearer that Nintendogs was in no fit state to be played. This led Ben to look up how to clean the cartridge, and lo and behold once he had, it worked.
The game successfully booted up, and Ben was met with the previous owners’ puppies, a black lab and a Shiba Inu. The black lab was called Enzo, and the Shiba was called tyson (lowercase t specifically). And through playing the game, Ben found that the original owner was called Sean. Who had cruelly only spent four total minutes with tyson.
All three TikToks are well worth watching, as it tells a simple but heartwarming tale of found family. And it might tide you over while we all wait for the Switch port we deserve. Sean might not be there for tyson and Enzo anymore, but at least Ben is.
