It has been confirmed that content thought to be exclusive to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, will be coming to the standard PS4 version too, as announced by Insomniac Games community manager, James Stevenson.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and will come with a whole host of improvements over its PS4 predecessor. Improvements such as high quality visuals including textures, reflections, draw distance, as well as an improved framerate, loading times and – for better or worse- a new character model for Peter Parker.
However, with this remaster being exclusive to the PS5 and only included in the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, it would have been safe to assume that any bonus content such as Spider-Suits would also be exclusive to the next-gen version.
While we won’t be getting a full Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS4, the developers at Insomniac Games have continued to support the game with free content since its 2018 release and they still don’t have any plans of stopping.
Last month it was revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will launch with three new suits, at the time of writing, two remain a mystery, while the third will be inspired by Andrew Garfield Spidey suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 (2012/2014).
So when a fan asked on Twitter as to whether the PS4 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man will be getting some of the suits confirmed for the PS5 remaster, community manager James Stevenson tracked down the answer and replied with positive news by saying “I spent a bunch of time chasing this for you and I’m pleased to say they will come to PS4. Exact timing TBD”.
So while we don’t have a release date for when these three Spidey suits will be coming to the PS4 version, it’s awesome that Insomniac Games is going to make this happen, as they could have easily washed their hands with the PS4 game and concentrated solely on the PS5 release.
