Mobile Mario Kart Has Finally Got Multiplayer Mode

The mobile version of everyone’s favourite kart racer, Mario Kart Tour, has finally gotten a multiplayer mode.

The new mode was rolled out overnight in the US, and now allows you to buddy up with your pals to duke it out for a first place win. All you need to do is link up with your friends via your Nintendo account and boot up a custom game.

According to TechRadar, just like classic console Mario Kart, your friendships will be tested in Mario Kart Tour.

Fans of Mario Kart Tour are thrilled to have multiplayer finally come to the mobile game – though many are complaining at the time it’s taken to release.

Regardless, it’s probably high time you reinstalled Mario Kart Tour, because it’s about to get a lot more exciting!

For those looking to reinstall their download, Nintendo has offered some helpful advice. Tweeting to its many players, the company said: “Are you a returning player? If so, now’s a great time to jump back in! If you redownload #MarioKartTour and link to the My Nintendo Account you had originally linked, you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off.”

Back in December 2019, Mario Kart Tour was revealed as one of the most popular mobile games of the year.

As revealed by Apple [via TheVerge], the Nintendo hit scored the number one spot on the “Free iPhone Games” chart, blowing both Call of Duty: Mobile and Fortnite out of the water.

The most impressive thing here is that Mario Kart Tour didn’t even release until September, making the 2019 win even more of a blow to its competitors.

Sadly, we don’t know how many times the game has been downloaded, but if Call of Duty: Mobile came in fourth place, you have to imagine it’s a pretty massive number.

Hopefully the release of multiplayer will help Mario Kart Tour to keep its winning spot in the charts!
