CD Projekt Red is no stranger to offering up multiple endings in its games, and it looks like its next title, Cyberpunk 2077, will follow the same route as the ones before it.
Yes, it’s been confirmed that just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiple endings that you could finish with, and each is dictated by the decisions you make in the game.
Unfortunately it’s not been announced how many endings there are, but it’s a safe bet that it’s not going to be just an Ending A and an Ending B.
CD Projekt Red gave The Witcher 3 a mammoth 36 different ending cinematics, and with Cyberpunk following in its steps in many ways, it’s hard to imagine it coming out with anything less than The Witcher.
Interestingly, it’s been confirmed that the game can be completed without actually killing anyone, despite there being a pretty heavy focus on violence.
Speaking to PCGamer, lead quest designer Paweł Sasko said: “Right now, every weapon and every cyberware has a nonlethal option…
“I think I can say everything. There’s one thing: only weapons that are lethal by definition, so let’s say you shoot someone with a bazooka in his face. You shoot his head off. That’s typically lethal.”
The anti-kill decision is reportedly based on fan feedback, with survey cards handed out at E3 2018 supposedly the foundation for the non-lethal option to play.
During E3 2019 CD Projekt Red finally gave us a release date for Cyberpunk 2077, which is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, April 16, 2020.
CD Projekt Red describes the game as follows: “An open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.
“You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”
