In a recent interview, Neil Druckmann acknowledged the demand for The Last of Us Part 3, and says the studio has picked an exciting project.
Naughty Dog co-president, Neil Druckmann was recently interviewed with Kinda Funny. The creator of The Last of Us acknowledged the fan’s demand for the third instalment in the franchise. However, he also states that passion should drive a project.
“I know the fans really want The Last of Us Part 3. I hear about it all the time. And all I can say is that we’re already into our next project” Druckmann says. “We picked the thing we’re most excited for.”
It’s up in the air whether this “exciting thing” is The Last of Us Part 3 or something totally different, but Druckmann still did not confirm that there will be no third part in the future. He merely states that the company has a focus on making games they want to make.
“That’s the fire that has to sustain for years to come, and if you pick the wrong project and then you burn out on that idea because you weren’t that passionate about it two years into a four year project, you’re fucked. I think that’s how you make mediocre anything, if you lose your excitement for it.”
What’s next for Naughty Dog?
For now, focus is on The Last of Us multiplayer. Although it has been confirmed and some information revealed, there is still no release date. However, Druckmann also spoke about this project during the Kinda Funny interview.
He assures fans that they will be hearing “much more” about this multiplayer mode at some point “later this year.” Not a lot of information, but we’ll take it.
In more recent news, The Last of Us Part 1 will be heading to PC on March 28. Here is everything you need to know about this version, as well as full pc specs.
