New Spyro Mod Introduces Podgy Spyro & He’s So Squishy

Someone has created a podgy Spyro the Dragon mod and he’s even cuter than ever before! Podgy Spyro comes from a modder by the name of Coldsteelj who is also an artist on Deviant Art.

On the forum weightgaming.com, coldsteelj said of the mod: “I released a version of fat Spyro modification for a game called Spyro reignited trilogy”.  The mod can be downloaded via Coldsteelj’s Deviant Art page here.

A Twitter follower who found the mod expressed their delight and love for the podgy Spyro by not only “squealing in delight” but also expressing that they would “die” for this cute little dragon.

Other members of the forum questioned coldsteelj on how to create the mod or one similar to it for themselves, but unfortunately they got no straight answers.

Thankfully however another forum member called Tombot did some digging around and they found out that you can also download the mod from Gamebanana.com.

In November 2018 Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One with a Nintendo Switch release that followed in 2019.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy features three remakes of the original PlayStation classics; Spyro The Dragon (1998), Spyro: Ripto’s Rage (1999) and Spyro: Year of the Dragon (2000).

Spyro Reignited Trilogy was received well by fans both new and veterans alike.  It was also the winner of the “Family/Kids” Title of the Year award at the Australian Game Awards.

Sadly with the nature of mods, this particular mod is only available on PC and not for consoles.

However it would be awesome if the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4 developers Toys for Bob released an official podgy Spyro skin, though I know that would be unlikely.
