A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is on the cards, and this time it’s actually looking pretty positive for fans of the pizza-loving sewer-dwellers. As reported by The Wrap, the new take on the turtles will be a CG animated movie, and it’s already got a stellar line-up of big names attached.
The new movie will come courtesy of Seth Rogen’s production company, Point Grey Pictures, who’s teaming up Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures for the flick.
Rogen himself will be producing, alongside Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. The animated picture will be directed by Jeff Rowe, writer of shows such as Disney’s Gravity Falls and Netflix’s Disenchantment.
Brendan O’Brien, who previously wrote the Neighbors movies starring Rogen, along with The House and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, will be writing the script.
We’ve no idea on the cast yet, but with a crew like this, I’m actually pretty hopeful that the new TMNT won’t be as dire as the last time the turtles took over the silver screen back in 2007.
In a statement, Brian Robbins, President of Kids & Family for ViacomCBS said: “Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property.
“I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.”
We don’t yet know when the movie will come out, but hey, we’re still in the throes of a global pandemic, so we don’t really know when anything is coming out anymore. Are you excited for another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie?
