When it comes to poop-your-pants scary, it doesn’t get more exciting than Kinetic Games terrifying hit. Released last summer, multiplayer horror Phasmophobia wowed its fans with its horrifying gameplay, and now it’s just gotten some new features.
In case you’re not aware, Phasmophobia has you trying to collect supernatural evidence using your investigative toolkit as you try to prove the existence of ghosts and spirits. Playable in teams of four, the online co-op has been praised for its terrifying and unique gameplay, which has made the game a firm favourite on streaming sites like Twitch.
So what are new features which have been introduced to Phasmophobia? Well, ghosts can now follow you around corners, meaning the spoopy-spoops are on the move! Not only will the ghosts following you around corners make you feel a whole lot less safe, it also increases the chances of soiling yourself. Are you prepared? Possibly not.
As explained by Kinetic Games on Twitter, the ghost will “now walk to your last known location when it has lost sight of you while hunting. This means the Ghost will now follow you around corners.” Yikes.
The same update also introduces a few other bug fixes and quality of life changes, as well as a new accessibility option which will allow you to change your sound to mono.
Professional Difficulty (the game’s highest difficulty mode) has also seen a tweak, where you will “no longer be told if the Ghost responds to groups or if you are alone.” Things just got a lot more tough if you like playing on Professional!
The horror doesn’t end there though, as an even newer update means ghosts will now hunt you by listening to your voice.
As explained by the developer: “The Ghost will now listen for player voices when hunting and will search those locations…
“The voice update is based on how loud your mic is. So you will be able to whisper during a hunt.”
You can check out all the changes live in Phasmophobia right now, but expect more in the future! Kinetic Games has been praised for how often bug fixes and game updates are released, so we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before we see another new feature come to Phasmophobia!
