PlayStation has announced it will be removing Persona 5 from its PlayStation Plus collection, as announced in the reveal for April’s titles on the service.
“Persona 5 will leave the PS Plus Collection on May 11,” the blog post reads. “Add the game to your game library before then to continue to access it while you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.”
The good news is that if you are currently a PlayStation Plus member and have a PS5, you can redeem Persona 5 to your account and continue playing past the May 11th deadline. The bad news is if you don’t own a PS5 or have a membership by then, you won’t be able to redeem it in the future.
PlayStation doesn’t mention why Persona 5 is being removed from the collection. It’s possible that it could be replaced by Persona 5 Royal, an updated version of the game with new characters, scenarios and cutscenes, in the near future.
The PlayStation Plus Collection is available for PS Plus subscribers on PS5. It gives you access to redeem a variety of popular games from PS4, including God of War, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
You need to be a PS Plus subscriber to continue playing the games however, even when they’ve been removed from the service like Persona 5.
