Pokémon Anime To Star Two Heroes For The First Time Ever

The next series of the Pokémon anime is set to feature some of the creatures we’ll be meeting in the Galar region, but it won’t just be Ash Ketchum who’ll be starring in the show.

Ash has always had his companions on his travels, including the likes of Pikachu, Brock and Misty, but for the first time ever he’ll be sharing the limelight with another protagonist – one who’s set to be just as much of a focal point as Ash.

As reported by Famitsu [via Kotaku], Ash will be teaming up with new main character, Go. According to the publication, Go (or Gou) is a 10-year-old with big dreams and a Scorbunny as his partner.

Go will be voiced by award-winning Japanese actor, Daiki Yamashita.

Along with now having two main characters, the anime has also changed up its looks and its title. Now going by the name ‘Pocket Monster,’ the series should feature some characters and places we’ll be seeing in the next Pokémon games, Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Both Pocket Monster and games Pokémon Sword and Shield will take place in the new Galar region, and will feature brand-new Pokémon, gyms, characters and challenges.

With just over a month until the launch of the new games we’ve now met quite a few of the weird and wonderful new critters we’ll get to play alongside during our time in the Galar region.

The games’ official description reads: “Begin your adventure as a Pokémon Trainer by choosing one of three new partner Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Then embark on a journey in the new Galar region, where you’ll challenge the troublemakers of Team Yell, while unraveling the mystery behind the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta!”

Pokémon Sword and Shield launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on Nov. 15.
