A viral quiz is testing how well fans know their RDR2 quotes, with a twist. A young creator reads out a series of lines, and viewers have to decide whether each one came from Red Dead Redemption 2 or from Donald Trump. As it turns out, telling them apart is surprisingly tricky.
The video, titled “Donny or Red Dead”, has been doing the rounds on social media. It’s short and simple, but the results have left plenty of viewers laughing.
How the RDR2 quotes quiz works
The format couldn’t be easier. Each quote appears on a laptop screen, and the creator reads it aloud. Then he reveals the answer on the next slide.
There are five quotes in total. Some come from RDR2’s colourful cast of strangers, while others come from Trump’s speeches and interviews. The fun lies in how naturally they blend together.
The answers
The first quote is “Do I look like I should entertain children?” That one belongs to Marko Dragic, the eccentric inventor from Saint Denis. Players meet him during the Stranger missions involving his robot.
Next up is “Nobody knows more about debt than me.” This time, the answer is Trump. He made similar comments about debt during his 2016 campaign.
The third quote catches many people out. “It’s like a gunslinger, where he draws his gun first” sounds like it came straight from the Wild West. However, the video credits it to Trump, not to anyone in the Van der Linde gang.
The fourth quote is a scathing description of a city. It calls a place smelly and filthy, full of “old buildings and ghosts” and French people. That line comes from Charles Châtenay, the flamboyant artist Arthur meets in Saint Denis.
Finally, there’s “I have a very good brain.” Once again, that one is Trump. He said it in a 2016 interview when asked who he consults on foreign policy.
Why RDR2 quotes are so easy to mix up
Rockstar’s writing is a big reason this quiz works. RDR2 is packed with larger-than-life characters who say outrageous things. Many of them are boastful, self-important or wildly confident.
Meanwhile, Trump is known for his unusual turns of phrase. Lines like “I have a very good brain” sound almost scripted. As a result, they slot neatly alongside dialogue from Rockstar’s satirical world.
Saint Denis takes another hit
Interestingly, both RDR2 quotes in the quiz come from characters linked to Saint Denis. The city is the game’s version of New Orleans, and it’s famous for its eccentric residents. Marko Dragic and Charles Châtenay are just two of many oddballs Arthur meets there.
Châtenay’s insult is a fan favourite for good reason. It’s blunt, dramatic and very funny, especially when you hear it out of context.
A world full of memorable RDR2 quotes
Eight years after launch, RDR2 remains one of gaming’s most quotable titles. Fans still share lines from Arthur, Dutch and Micah all over social media. Quizzes like this one show just how deeply the dialogue has stuck with players.
It’s also a reminder of how much detail Rockstar packs into its games. The studio stays famously tight-lipped about its projects, but its writing always speaks for itself. With GTA 6 arriving on November 19, fans won’t have to wait long for a fresh batch of unforgettable lines.
