Resellers Are Now Profiting From PlayStation 4 And Xbox One Consoles

Resellers on retail websites in the United States are now profiting from stock shortages for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

By now we are used to the stock shortages of new-gen consoles, as frustrating as that issue continues to be. However, now it seems that even last-gen consoles are no longer safe.

As reported by TheGamer, independent resellers are selling consoles on US retailers Amazon, Target, and Walmart. At the time of writing, if you try to buy a PS4 Slim or Xbox One X, you would be hard-pressed to pick one up directly from the retailer. However, you can buy the consoles from resellers, at increased prices. Of course.

Splash the Cash!

Right now on Target, resellers have listed a PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB console is listed at $448, which is pretty much the cost of a new-gen console. TheGamer also grabbed a screenshot of a PS4 Slim 2TB selling for $599.99 on Amazon. However, that Amazon listing is currently unavailable.

I have checked PS4 Slim and Xbox One X listings on UK online retailers. From what I can tell, prices are pretty much normal but they vary at different websites.

As much as it sucks, I can understand stock shortages of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but the prospect of buying last-gen consoles at increased prices from resellers baffles me, to be honest.
