Capcom absolutely smashed it out of the park earlier this year with the release of the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Not only was the game nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019, but it’s also quickly jumped to becoming one of the stand-out entries of the series. Now we know that Resident Evil 3 Remake is also on the cards, what can we expect to see changed from its original release?
In a recent interview with Famitsu [translated by Siliconera], game producers Peter Fabiano and Masao Kawada talked a little about their plans for RE 3 Remake, discussing what we can expect from the 2020 title.
Unfortunately, they didn’t offer up much more than a yes, things will be different from the original, but it’s a safe bet to assume they’ll be using the success of RE 2 Remake as a sounding board.
Along with updated graphics, RE 2 Remake tweaked some of the gameplay mechanics to make it a much more modern experience. We can probably expect something similar with RE 3 Remake, though we might see the developers try and push the boundaries a little more. We do know there’s a multiplayer game within the title, for example.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis originally released way back in 1999, and the story follows series staple, Jill Valentine, as she attempts to escape the T-Virus outbreak. Perhaps most memorable from the game is the enemy, Nemesis, but if you’re not familiar with the story I won’t spoil anything for you here.
As revealed earlier this month, Resident Evil 3 is set to release on PlayStation 4 on April 3, 2020 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Personally I can’t wait to see more on what Capcom has planned.
