Resident Evil Village is getting another performance patch on PC, and it could be arriving this week, Capcom has confirmed.
By and large, Resident Evil Village is as smooth as a McFlurry on a hot summer’s day. Well, at least on consoles. However, the PC version of Capcom’s latest survival horror outing has had some reported issues.
It’s not always been smooth on PC
Back in July, Capcom released a patch for Resident Evil Village to fix performance issues on PC related to the Steam version of the game. It was reported that the performance issues were caused by DRM technology.
Furthermore, according to an article from VGC, it was claimed that a “cracked” version of Resident Evil Village ran better than its official release. Which perhaps was not the best look for Capcom. Consequently, a patch was then released in the hope of fixing the issues caused by DRM.
A new fix is inbound
Yet it seems that Capcom is not finished with their attempts to fix Resident Evil Village on PC, because a new performance patch will be released on August 10th. The incoming patch was confirmed via the official Resident Evil social media pages.
“We are releasing a Resident Evil Village performance patch for Steam users on August 10th UTC, which will be addressing the following:
- Internal processing will be improved to optimize performance
- Minor fine-tuning to FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR)”
