Skull And Bones Alpha Gameplay Has Been Leaked Online

Do you remember Ubisoft’s online pirate multiplayer game, Skull and Bones? Well, apparently some gameplay has leaked online.

Skull and Bones was announced four years ago at E3 2017. However, this online multiplayer game has seemingly been lost out at sea because we’ve practically heard next to nothing since its announcement. Some fans have even been worried that the game has wandered into the dreaded developmental hell.

Arrr me hearty!

Thankfully, you may be pleased to learn that Skull and Bones still exists and if this apparent gameplay leak on Reddit is anything to go by, Ubisoft still has plans to release it.

The leaked gameplay in question is taken from an alpha build of the game and runs for about six minutes. The gameplay details how players will complete contacts to level up the crew of NPCs. According to the gameplay, as you level up, you’ll also be able to unlock new upgrades and ship designs.

Skull and Bones is heavily inspired by 2013s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, and for good reason. Originally, Skull and Bones was intended to be an expansion to Black Flag, before Ubisoft decided to make it an MMO spin-off called Black Flag Infinite.

However, Ubisoft then decided on calling the project Skull and Bones and it would be its own standalone, live-service game. That being said, I might assume that given how long this game has been in development, it could turn out to be quite different by the time it eventually releases.

Are you still looking forward to Skull & Bones?

While new details on Skull and Bones are currently few and far between, sources of Kotaku claim the game could be released by the end of this year. However, it remains to be seen whether fans might have gotten bored of waiting for Skull and Bones after all these years. Only time will tell.
