Sony’s State Of Play Airs Tonight With A “Focus On Upcoming And Third-Party Releases”

Sony’s latest State of Play airs later today and will be the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on some upcoming indie titles.

The showcase is set to highlight indie and third-party news but will primarily focus on already announced games so don’t look forward to any big announcements.

So what can we expect to see later today?

Sony’s State Of Play Airs Tonight

The State of Play event will air today, September 14 at 2PM PT/5PM ET/10PM BST.

It is expected to focus on indie games, third-party titles and PSVR 2 highlights.

“Here at PlayStation, our vision is to be the best place to play and publish great games. And because there are thousands of developers and publishers all around the world constantly making great games, our team has their work cut out for them”, said Shawn Benson, director of global third party relations at Sony.

“I hope you can tune in tomorrow to check out a diverse selection of upcoming games.”

It will be available to watch on Youtube, Twitch and Tiktok

A Look Back

The last State of Play showcase aired in April followed by a whole event dedicated to PlayStation titles in May.

These events saw some exciting footage from the now-released Final Fantasy 16 as well as news of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.

With the theme being indie and third-party titles, we could expect to see news on Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin, Helldivers 2, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, Tekken 8 and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Although today’s event won’t be featuring any first-party titles, it is still expected to have “something for everyone.” There is also no news on an expected runtime.
