Marvel’s Avengers is one of the most highly anticipated games to release this year, despite its delays. While a game that suffers multiple push-backs can get a little annoying at times, it’s always nice to see that improvements are being made for the benefit of the overall experience. That certainly looks to be the case with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics.
Just last week, a short-but-sweet new snipped of gameplay was released for Marvel’s Avengers, and the eagle-eyed viewers out there may have noticed some subtle changes to our heroes – in particular, some improvements.
When Marvel’s Avengers was first revealed, many fans weren’t too happy with the designs of the characters, which led to Black Widow being re-designed.
However, during the latest trailer it seems that Thor has also had the make-over treatment, as both his hair and beard have been styled to perhaps resemble Thor’s likeness in the most recent MCU movies. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out in the tweet below!
I’ll be honest, at first I didn’t notice the subtle changes made to Thor, but it did seem like that visuals overall did appear to have been improved upon, so it’s nice to see that developers at Crystal Dynamics are making the most of their extra development time.
Check out the new Thor design (above), versus the older design (below).
The game’s official description reads as follows: “Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”
