Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch is one of my most-played games. It’s the fun social sim you need to wind down after a long day at work, and there’s a surprising amount of grind involved when you first get down and dirty in your new farm.
The game is available on everything from mobile to Steam, and with its undeniable charm, wit and fanmade mods, it’s not too surprising to hear that Stardew Valley has surpassed 10 million sales worldwide.
Still, it’s a remarkable achievement for a game that isn’t AAA.
Sharing the amazing milestone sales numbers on Twitter, developer ConcernedApe writes: “Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies. It’s strange & amazing to think back to when I was making this game in my bedroom w/ no clue if anyone would like it. Only 4 years ago! To everyone who has played this game, supported it, and made all of this possible: Thank you!!”
Happy fans have flooded the tweet with their own wholesome stories of the game, and it makes me happier than Pam gets when you give her a beer.
One user replied: “Just wanna say you believed in yourself and stayed true to a vision that paid off. I have nothing but respect for that. Well deserved and one of my favorite games to have ever played with my wife. Thank you for the experience.”
Another said: “Your game has been a big reason I’ve taken up gardening, nature walks and foraging as a hobby. My life has become so much richer because of your game!”
If you haven’t yet played Stardew Valley it’s on sale on Steam right now. You can also get it via GOG and the Humble Store, or download it for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
