It’s being reported that Telltale Games’ has been ‘saved’ from perma-death thanks to LCG Entertainment.

According to Polygon, LCG Entertainment has purchased some of the now-closed Telltale Games’ back catalogue. It’s also being reported that “new games” are being worked on, based on existing Telltale IPs.
Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle are the purchases behind the deal, with Ottilie telling Polygon that the new Telltale now has rights to The Wolf Among Us and Batman, adding: “There are some other expired licenses that we’re looking at.”
The Walking Dead license now lies with Skybound Games.

Whatever the future looks like, it seems that the narrative-based, decision-making games are far from over, despite the original development studio closing its doors last year.
Right now, LCG has said that the new Telltale will be filling freelance positions first, with possible full-time jobs later, which doesn’t sound too reassuring…
One ex employee took to Twitter to voice frustration at the news, saying: “Telltale Games isn’t coming back… A company bought our assets. I am still working through the trauma of our company closing, and I am missing my friends every day. My entire life was turned upside down. Feel free to quote me, I don’t care.”
