The Best Assassin’s Creed Game Is Now Completely Free

There’s a lot of great games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but what’s arguably the best of the bunch is now free to play – and keep – so long as you act fast.

Many games companies have been offering up free games, free-to-play weekend and even free-to-keep games as the global coronavirus pandemic is keeping people at home and pretty bored.

One of the latest freebies you can nab for yourself comes courtesy of Ubisoft, who is offering the chance for you to download and keep Assassin’s Creed 2 on PC. Unlike the free weekend for Asssassin’s Creed Odyssey which was offered up last month, this time you can download and keep the game forever, for free.

Sadly, unlike the free weekend for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the freebie offering of AC 2 is only for PC gamers. Sorry, console players!

If you want to download your free copy of AC 2 you’ve got until April 17. The free game is available via the Ubisoft PC launcher, UPlay.

If you’re a PS4 gamer then, although you can’t get AC 2 for free, you can get yourself the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free!

Sony has announced how the company is working to thank those who are practising social distancing and staying at home during the coronavirus pandemic: by giving them games via the Play At Home initiative.

“Play At Home has two components: first, providing free games to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home; and finally, establishing a fund to help smaller independent game studios who may be experiencing financial difficulties continue building great experiences for all gamers,” explains Sony.

“To support Play At Home, PlayStation will try to make those occasionally dull moments more exciting by offering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey available for free* for a limited time through digital downloads from April 15 at 8pm PDT through May 5, 2020 at 8pm PDT Once you redeem the games, they are yours to keep.”
