The Creator Of Stardew Valley Is Working On Multiple New Games

ConcernedApe, the developer behind the one and only Stardew Valley, has confirmed that not only is a new game in the works, but multiple new games are. Hooray!

Creator Eric Barone announced the exciting news on Twitter, where he admitted to a curious fan that a Stardew Valley “universe” is actually the plan for the future.

In response to a question about the potential of more games set in the SV world, Barone told his followers: “Yes, I’m actually working on a couple of new projects.”

He went on to offer some details on the projects, explaining: “One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I’m not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way.”

I’m definitely interested to see what a “non-farming” game in the world of Stardew Valley would be like. Personally, I’m imagining it as a Minecraft Dungeons type of deal with a swapped-out genre. As for storyline, I’d like to see Pam in rehab. Make it happen, ConcernedApe!

2020 is already shaping up to be a great year for Stardew Valley, as just last month the title hit a sales milestone, selling over 10 million copies worldwide.

Sharing the amazing milestone sales numbers on Twitter, ConcernedApe said: “Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies. It’s strange & amazing to think back to when I was making this game in my bedroom w/ no clue if anyone would like it. Only 4 years ago! To everyone who has played this game, supported it, and made all of this possible: Thank you!!”

If you haven’t yet played the iconic farming sim that is Stardew Valley, it’s available on Steam , GOG and the Humble Store, as well as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
