The Uncharted Movie Trailer Is Here, Releasing February 2022

Sony has finally revealed the trailer for the upcoming live action Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland, and it’s arriving early next year.

Fans have been awaiting a trailer for the Uncharted movie for a while, mostly to see whether the young Tom Holland can truly fill the boots of Nathan Drake. Now, cinema goers and gamers alike can make up their minds for themselves. Give the trailer a watch here!

There’s plenty of characters that fans of the Uncharted series will be able to pick out instantly. Of course, Tom Holland is playing a much younger version of Nathan Drake. He reminds me of his young appearance in Uncharted 3, right down to the introductory interaction he has with Sully. Speaking of Sully, he’s also been aged down considerably, portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. I think I can also spot Chloe in there, whom is portrayed by Sophie Taylor Ali.

It’s an original story

A synopsis for the film’s plot reads:

‘Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, Uncharted introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). In an action-adventure epic that spans the globe, the two go in dangerous pursuit of “the greatest treasure never found” while also tracking clues that may lead to Nathan’s long-lost brother.’

That confirms that the Uncharted movie will not be following the plot of the games and will instead be charting its own course. It seems the directors are taking the title of ‘Uncharted’ quite literally.

As a fan of the games, I think the trailer looks alright. As with any video game movie adaptation, some of the charm is going to be lost in the transition to film. Still, at least Tom Holland’s charisma might still shine through. It seems that his acrobatic spider skills are certainly getting a look-in during the trailer.

Uncharted is scheduled to release on February 18th 2022. What are your thoughts on the new trailer? Let us know across our social channels.
