Despite reports to the contrary, it’s rumoured that Titanfall 3 is in development over at Respawn Entertainment.
Titanfall 2 is widely recognised as being one of the best shooters of the generation, and with a huge following, even a nugget of a hint of a rumour about a sequel has the community up in arms. Thankfully, there’s actually some credence to this rumour, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
The unconfirmed news comes from Titanfall and Apex Legends leaker TheNeon_Beast, who actually has a pretty solid track record of leaks in the past. As always, here’s your usual disclaimer to take the rumour with a grain of salt for now.
As spotted by Dexerto, the leaker claimed the game is really happening, though they’ve since gone on to delete their tweet.
“Titanfall 3 is for real,” read the now-deleted tweet. “I’m pretty sure leakers can say the same, cuz we have totally different sources. The good thing is: even with different sources, the rumor is exactly the same.”
They later tweeted they’d no longer be leaking any new details on Titanfall and Apex from their source, writing: “People, let’s talk a little. Here’s the thing: I can’t leak anymore. I’m limiting myself to only share things that other people get leak first, just like I ALWAYS did. I know you are here for the leaks, I appreciated that but from now on, I can’t do that anymore, so I’m sorry.”
Whether or not Titanfall 3 is happening remains to be seen, but if the success of Battle Royale spin-off Apex Legends is anything to go by, it makes sense to bring the original series back into the limelight.
