Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2 Will Feature Aged Characters

It’s been confirmed that the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 remaster will feature all your favourite skaters as they currently look, and not like their younger counterparts from the original games.

It’s been over 20 years since the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater came out, and unsurprisingly, Hawk and the rest of the skaters who feature in the game have aged since then.

An Activision rep has confirmed to both Game Informer and Kotaku that the new scans used to develop the remaster reflect the skaters’ current appearances. What this means in real terms is that the Pro Skater remaster will feature a 52-year-old Tony Hawk, which is pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Fellow skaters Rodney Mullen (53), Chad Muska (43 next week), Andrew Reynolds (42 next month), Elissa Steamer (44) and Steve Caballero (55), will also be showing their true ages in the upcoming game.

I’m a huge fan of this. They all look young as heck anyway, and it’s just going to add that extra bit of realism into the remaster.

It seems that you can put your fears about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 to bed, as it’s looking like nostalgia is deep in the heart of the game.

Activision has said in a statement: “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will blend all the original levels, pro-skaters, old-school tricks and more that gamers remember from the ‘90s and ‘2000s with new, beautifully recreated levels. This faithful remaster will also include blockbuster songs from the original franchise.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC through the Epic Games Store, on September 4, 2020.

If you can’t wait that long, at least the soundtrack is available to listen to via Spotify.

The full Spotify playlist includes tracks like Police Truck – Dead Kennedys and Superman – Goldfinger.
